Bio

HAJJI Imad
I'm an emerging Director of Photography (DP) from Morocco with a Master's degree in Cinematography, Film studies, actively pushing for higher standards on every project, in storytelling, technology, and production workflows.
My approach as a DP is very technical. Having worked with most lighting and cinema cameras, combined with my background in colouring, I've developed a solid understanding of how signal, light, and color behave. This technical foundation helps reassure collaborators and the director that their vision is not only understood but fully achievable. It lifts a weight off the creative process, freeing them to focus on their work without second-guessing, which allows for stronger teamwork and better time management.
Working across Morocco and Europe exposed me to different production scales, film cultures, and creative systems. This diversified experience widened my spectrum of possibilities and allowed me to adapt in different environments, be attentive and stay at service. I'm currently completing my first technical book: The Existence and Perception of Color in Nature, soon available.
Naturally, most of my experience has been in narratives: fiction, TV, and documentary. But I'm now broadening my work to also include commercials and music videos; open to collaborations of any scale.
As for my services, I primarily work as a cinematographer but also offer additional services such as colour grading and camera operating (see "extra services" tab).
